Huawei Releases Folding Screen Mobile Phone Mate X in Barcelona, It’s also Huawei’s First 5G Mobile Phone.
In terms of selling price, the 8GB+512GB version of 2299 euros, equivalent to about 17,500 yuan, will be sold in mid – 2019.
Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, said at the scene that Mate X was the world’s fastest 5G smartphone product.
Mate X carries a 7nm 5G multimode terminal chip Balong 5000. The theoretical peak download rate can reach the fastest 4.6Gbps in the industry. A single chip supports the realization of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G network systems.
Mate X has a 6.6 – inch screen on the front, 6.38 inches on the back, and 8 inches when unfolded. In the hinge module connected to the folding part of the screen, Huawei adopts Falcon Wing design to make the screen completely fit after folding. The thickness of the mobile phone after unfolding is 5.4mm, and the thickness after folding is 11 mm.
In addition to the foldable screen Mate X, huawei has also released a number of innovative smart devices, including a new generation of full-screen notebooks HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, HUAWEI MateBook 13 and HUAWEI MateBook 14, and huawei 5G CPE Pro.
Huawei is already one of the world’s top three smart phone manufacturers, with a high growth rate in the market, closely following Samsung and Apple.
IDC data shows that Huawei shipped 206 million units worldwide last year, with sales up 33.6% and market share 14.7%. Not long ago, Huawei has set its annual smartphone shipment target for 2019 at 250 million units and will challenge its shipment target of 300 million units in 2020 in an attempt to replace Samsung as the world’s largest smartphone supplier.
The annual MWC will be officially launched tomorrow. From now on, 5G and folding screen are the two focus points. No one will deny that 5G will change the society in the future, but the folding screen market has produced different voices.
Samsung and Huawei have both introduced mass-produced folding screen mobile phones, both costing more than 10,000 yuan. Everbright Securities believes that high prices will become a factor that hinders the penetration of folding screen phones. However, due to the high cost of materials and low yield of products, the price of folding screens cannot be popularized.
In addition, poor software matching will lead to poor use experience and poor software matching of folding screen mobile phones at the initial stage, which will lead to poor use experience of products and reduce consumers’ purchasing willingness.
At present, folding screen mobile phones are more like a terminal product that manufacturers display their technology and design capabilities, and it is difficult to realize large-scale shipment.
